Indian Institute Of Management (IIM)
- The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) is a business school located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
- Established in 1961, the institute offers master's degree programs in management and agri-business management, a fellowship program and a number of executive training programs.
- IIMA (and all the other IIMs) has been accorded the status of an Institute of National Importance through the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017 and its subsequent amendments
- Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, a pioneering space scientist, was the first Director from 1961-65. Other founders were Kasturbhai Lalbhai, an industrialist and Chairman of the first Board of Governors, and Ravi J. Matthai, the first full-time Director from 1965-72. Dr. Kamla Chowdhry was IIM Ahmedabad's first faculty member. The setting up of IIMA was also proactively supported by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Dr. Jivraj Mehta.
- In 2020, IIMA was ranked first among the business schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework.
- In terms of job placements, as per previous year's final placement report of IIM Ahmedabad, the highest salary offered was Rs 55.88 lakh per annum and the international salary was Rs 1.32 crore per annum. A total of 153 companies participated in the placement drive of IIM Ahmedabad and offered 182 job roles to the participated students.
